Blogs: The Worst

Blogs are the worst. Aren't they? I mean, some of them are great (I suppose?), but most of them are not worth the effort it takes to look at them. I just started my first blog yesterday, and it is so ridiculous that I don't even want to tell you what it is about. But I will anyway. It's about Boy Meets World? See? Ridiculous! In browsing through other blogs on the same site, hoping to find one to befriend, I noticed that most blogs seem to fall into certain categories, but they all have one thing in common: they annoy me. I've compiled a list of the different types of personal blogs out there. It turned into quite a long list (I like words), so I'll share half with you now, and the rest in the next update. Here we go:

The baby blog:

Listen people, NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR BABY. It's true. IF someone cares about your baby, they will probably ask you about it personally, not wait for you to update with details of the latest "hilarious" or "adorable" noise that it made. And if people ARE sitting around waiting for these nuggets of information, they probably aren't the kind of people you want exposed to your child's personal data, anyway.

The family blog:

Similar to the baby blog, but slightly creepier. The people who make these blogs generally have children and spouses who are old enough to write their own thoughts and opinions, so it's sort of like a fan fiction of what they THINK their families would want to share with the world. Meanwhile, they aren't aware that their kids are already making postings of their own on Facebook, although they are more along the lines of "my frend matt is gay lol jkz justin bieber," which is exactly how the kids these days talk.

The poetry/photography/deep insight blog:

There are three different types here, but they all fit the same basic mold: someone has decided that they see the world differently than anybody else, and they want to share that with the world. The only problem is, the world is what it is. People all pretty much see things the same way, and posting insights that you had the first time you tried marijuana doesn't make you in any way special or superior. The same goes for ANY poem (especially if they don't rhyme), and photographers. Photographers are probably the worst. If I wanted to see new and interesting things, I would go SEE them. Nobody is getting ANYTHING out of seeing the world "through your lens." Ugh.

All of these different kinds of blogs made me come to the realization that I need to start my own blog with one goal in mind: absolutely nothing. I can assure you, this blog will, at all times, be filled ONLY with my unsolicited opinions on things that do not really matter. I will not try to make the world a better place, nor will I share my ideas on major issues that affect all of us. That is boring, and I will not put up with it. If you're interested in reading what I write, good for you, maybe we can be friends and share high fives. Otherwise, what are you still doing reading this?

Next time: more types of pointless blogs.
